The Committee finding that the Harbour Master is of opinion that the repairs are necessary, and that the charges for same are reasonable, recommend that the amount be voted.

Read: Letter No. 43 of the 12th February, 1883, from the Surveyor General, pointing out the necessity of proceeding with the building of the Police Boat Dock at Tsim-sha-tsui, Kowloon, in connection with the new Water Police Station now in course of erection there, which the Government has had in contemplation since 1881, to prevent, in the event of a typhoon,
The estimated cost is $35,000.
damage to the adjoining sea walls that are being built there.
The Committee finding that in the interests of the Government the work should be taken in hand at once, recommend that the amount, which they consider reasonable, be voted.
(5.) Read: Letter No. 100 of the 16th ultimo, from the Registrar of the Supreme Court,
requesting that the Surveyor General might be authorised to fit up as a Summary Court the portion of the Supreme Court building lately occupied by the Registry; and also to convert the present Summary Court into a Library.

The Committee finding that the transfer of the Deed Registry of the Land Office to the Supreme Court has been sanctioned by the Secretary of State, recommend that the amount of the Surveyor General's estimate, which they consider to be reasonable, be voted.
(7.) Read: Letter No. 110, of the 15th instant, from the Surveyor General, asking for a vote of $1,800 for improving the Police Station at Stanley.

The Committee finding that the amount having remained undrawn at the end of the last financial year, has lapsed, recommend a re-vote.
(9.) Read: A Memorial from Mr. EDMUND SHARP, dated December, 1879, for compensation for deficiency in area in respect of Inland Lot 670 at Belcher's Bay.
Read also: The Surveyor General's report and the Attorney General's opinion thereon, dated respectively the 27th March and the 24th April, 1883.
Having regard to the report and the opinion of the above two Officers, the Committee recommend that the sum of $756.86, as estimated by the Surveyor General, be voted to Mr. SHARP, provided that he fulfils the terms of the original Crown Lease of the ground in respect to building on the Lot.
Conversation ensues as to the desirability of having fixed days for the Committee's Meetings, and it is decided that the Committee do meet every alternate Thursday, at 3.30 P.M., commencing on Thursday, the 31st instant.
The Chairman adjourns the Committee sine die.
